Technique
The image you see in the shadow is not painted on the wall. It is created by light interacting with individually positioned elements in the sculpture.
Each element is placed at its own angle and depth. A single controlled source of light travels past them, and what the eye reads as an image is the pattern of light and shadow they produce together.
Move the light, and the image changes. Remove it, and the image disappears entirely.
